Volunteer for a CSA share

At Red Tomato, we don’t have any employees! It’s just me, Abigail, and my partner and dad when I can wrangle them in. I wouldn’t be able to do what I’m doing without your help! (How would I do the cabbage toss if there’s no one to toss to!?)

You can choose to pay for your CSA by volunteering your time and hands at Red Tomato Farm. You will receive a share of seasonal fresh produce like any other CSA - BUT you are welcome to be choosy on what you want in your box. See redtomatofarms.com/csa for more information on what a typical CSA share is.

Farming Share: Typical tasks are washing produce, harvesting, weeding, transplanting.

Childcare Share: Are you a stay-at-home parent that wants to bring their kids out to the farm? Or do you have some experience with children and want to help our with Rosie? I will be bringing my toddler to the farm every day, (thoughts and prayers) and I would love help watching her while I get the big things done.

FAQ

I don’t know how to farm, will you teach me? We will work together for all farm tasks. You will be trained in on exactly what to do and why we’re doing it!

Do I need to come for the whole summer? Nope! The more you come out, the more fun farm things you will do & learn. But we can schedule one volunteer shift at a time!

Can I bring my children? You can bring your children along if you are doing the childcare share and hanging with Rosie (my toddler) during your volunteer shift. Children can’t come along for the farming shifts.

Can I work weekends or evenings? Sorry no! If you are a regular volunteer we may be able to have weekend market shifts, otherwise our operating hours are Mon-Fri 8am-4pm.

What to bring / wear? Wear work clothes like jeans, shorts, sun protecting shirts, and hats. Bring sunscreen and water. Boots are recommended.

I’m ready to apply, now what? Fill out the form below and Abigail will contact you about scheduling!
